Kathak Dance by Tejaswini Sathe – India @75

BraWo Marathi Mandal e.V. organized a Kathak Dance Program by renowned Kathak Dancer and Guru Tejaswini Sathe along with her four disciples from Tanz Academy on 9th July at KuFa Haus, Braunschweig. This was first ever Kathak Performance Program by an Indian Artists in the Braunschweig Region and was part of the „Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav“- 75th years of Indian Independence. This cultural Program is supported and funded by Culture and Science Department of Braunschweig City. 

This event was graced by kind attendance and address by chief guest Ms. Mayoress Cristina Antonelli-Ngameni. Also, while India mourns due to sad demise of former Prime minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, Hon. Consul General of India, Hamburg, Shri. John H. Ruolngul could not attend this event.  

The Program started around 17:00 hrs with a warm welcome to chief guest Ms. Mayoress Cristina Antonelli-Ngameni who represented Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum.  She delivered a short address to the community appreciating the initiatives by BraWo Marathi Mandal in the cultural exchanges and mentioned specific Indo-German cooperations related to the City of Braunschweig.

Mrs. Mugdha Poonekar and Mrs. Meenakshi Deshmukh moderated the program maintaining logical flow. Kathak Dancer & Guru Tejaswini Sathe together with her group presented 8 structured pieces of wonderfully choreographed and mesmerising Dance Performances covering various facets of Kathak – Indian Classicals, Romantic, Fusion and Abhang Presentations. Snacks and drinks were served in the Pause as refreshment. Following the classical musical tradition, the performances ended with Dance Performance on Tarana in Bhairavi Raga.  

Mr. Amol Bhagwat then presented small gifts to the performers and thanked to all the guests, chief guest for their kind visit and gesture, the moderation team, the music team for the wonderful support, KuFa Haus Administration & volunteers for the arrangements. The Program ended at 20:00 hrs.
